At the beginning of the 21st century, the main motto of the Jagiellonian University has not lost its relevance. It is about the primacy of reason over force. /… / It therefore seems all the more important to honour people who are guided by these principles.
During today's ceremony, the Jagiellonian University honours with the silver medal "Plus Ratio Quam Vis" the Consul General of the Republic of France in Krakow, Mr. Frédéric de Touchet” - with these words, the Rector of the Jagiellonian University, prof. Wojciech Nowak, opened the first session of the Senate of the Jagiellonian University since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
Our participation in this unique ceremony was to provide professional simultaneous translation in French and technical support, including the necessary sound system and appropriate equipment for the interpreter at the venue.
Usually, simultaneous interpreting is done from the booth and the interpreter sees directly all participants of the event that is being translated. However, at Collegium Maius, the venue conditions did not allow for the installation of a simultaneous interpreting booth so the translator had to follow the event on a screen. Despite these inconveniences, everything went according to the plan to the satisfaction of all the participants.
We provide interpreting services (simultaneous, consecutive, whispered) in cooperation with professional translators specialised in many languages, including English, German, Russian, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Ukrainian.
We also offer technical support for international conferences, trainings, congresses or fairs and provide the necessary equipment (headphones, sound system, screens, and simultaneous interpretation booths). During the pandemic, in order to avoid direct contact during simultaneous interpreting, we can provide separate booths for each interpreter.
